Changelog

The current version is shown under Settings → About. New versions are available at systemberg.de/runos/download; RUNOS tells you itself and, from 3.67 on, updates with one click (Updates).

  • New: Code. An operation that runs a short JavaScript, much like the Code node in n8n: it reads the results of the actions before it (input, data), calculates, filters and reshapes, and returns an object the next actions use as {{Name.Response.…}}. The script runs inside RUNOS without access to files, network or Windows, and with a time limit. In the visual editor under Logic; values dragged in become data.…. AI agents (MCP) and the AI assistant know the new operation.
  • Workflow order as administrator too: the context menu of the workflow list has a new Move entry (up, down, to the top, to the bottom); a click on the grip at the left of the row opens the same choice. Plus Alt+↑ / Alt+↓. This also works when RUNOS runs as administrator, where Windows allows no drag and drop and the order could not be changed at all so far.
  • Desktop shortcut: On the first start RUNOS asks each Windows user once whether to put a shortcut on their desktop (Download and start).
  • Fixed file name RunOS.exe: The download is now always named RunOS.exe instead of runos_<version>.exe. A one-click update renames a file still named after its version (e.g. runos_3.66.exe) to RunOS.exe, so the name no longer shows an old version. Autostart follows; shortcuts to the old name must be created once more.
  • Autostart: when RUNOS starts with Windows, the main window no longer opens; RUNOS runs minimized in the notification area and the workflows start as usual. Click the RUNOS icon to open the window. Started by hand, RUNOS still opens with its window.
  • Shared data folder: log entries of the other users now appear in your open RUNOS within a few seconds, for example errors of a workflow another user ran. Before, they only showed up after restarting RUNOS.
  • AI agents (MCP) and AI assistant: get_logs now also returns the entries of the other users of a shared data folder (with user) and of earlier sessions, not only those of the running session. New filter user.
  • New: Printer trigger. A workflow can now listen to a RUNOS PDF printer directly: choose PDF printed to a RUNOS printer in the editor and pick the printer from the list, without entering a folder or filter. Every print starts the run right away; script blocks, spooler and shared pool work as with the File trigger. If the printer’s folder changes, the running workflow follows it. The trigger type is now chosen in the editor from a list with icons instead of buttons.
  • New: shared pool. Several running workflows can now watch the same folder (before, the second one did not start). Script blocks then start with the workflow name, e.g. #RUNOS Invoice.SendMail.To=… #RUNOS; only the named workflows run, each with its own copy of the file. A file that names none of them goes to the Failed folder. If only one workflow watches the folder, nothing changes, no name needed.
  • New: share connectors in a shared data folder. The owner checks Share with the other users of this data folder on a connector; from then on every member’s workflows can use it, without each member creating it. Members see it marked shared and can test it, but not change it. The box only appears once other users use the folder.
  • New: hand over ownership. Settings → Data folder now shows who else uses the shared folder; Hand over… makes one of them the owner. License, own connectors, settings and start/stop go with each user; workflows and shared connectors stay in the folder.
  • AI agents (MCP) and AI assistant: new tool list_connectors lists the connectors (own and shared) and how to reference them, without secrets.
  • Forms for the triggers in the visual editor instead of the JSON box: File (folder, filter, processing, script blocks), Time and Manual. The schedule is picked (every … seconds/minutes, hourly, daily, Mon–Fri, chosen weekdays, monthly) instead of typed as a cron expression; your own expressions still work. The diagram also describes hourly, weekly and monthly schedules in words.
  • AI assistant: on by default for new installations; without an API key the chat asks for it itself (choose a provider, paste the key, Save and start), no detour through the settings. Existing installations keep their setting.
  • AI agents (MCP) and AI assistant: new tool edit_workflow for small changes (turn an action on or off, set a parameter, remove, add or move an action) without rewriting the whole workflow JSON. It is faster and cheaper, and keeps a model from breaking the JSON while copying it and getting stuck in a loop. Broken JSON is reported with the spot where the error is.
  • AI assistant: knows which workflow is open in the editor (so “remove the print node” works on that one) and answers in the RUNOS language you set, unless you write in another one.
  • The AI assistant and AI agents (MCP) now also save a workflow that is open in an editor tab; the tab shows the new version at once. Only unsaved changes in the tab block the save, so they are not lost.
  • AI assistant: chat history with search, archive and delete; conversations are saved encrypted per Windows user and can be continued. New full view through AI assistant in the left bar or Open in full view in the chat, with the history on the left; the same chat carries on there. Answers are formatted (lists, tables, code with a copy button), with a reworked look and suggestions in an empty chat.
  • AI assistant: far fewer tokens, and so lower cost, per conversation. Big tool results (building blocks, templates, log) are no longer sent again with every further question, with Anthropic (Claude) the conversation is cached between steps, and tool results go to the provider without indentation. When the provider reports that its per-minute limit is reached (about 8,000 tokens on Groq’s free plan), the assistant waits up to one minute and carries on by itself instead of showing an error.
  • AI agents (MCP): list_action_types without arguments only names the triggers and actions with their parameter names; with types (e.g. File, SMTP) it gives the details. get_templates without arguments only lists the templates; with id it gives one template’s JSON. get_logs returns 30 entries by default instead of 100.
  • New: AI assistant in RUNOS. A chat that floats over the window on every page: move it, resize it, minimize it to a round button you can drag anywhere. It answers questions about workflows, the log and RUNOS and writes, checks, tests, starts and stops workflows, with the same tools as AI agents over MCP but without the MCP server. Provider of your choice with your own API key: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Google Gemini, Mistral, xAI, DeepSeek, Groq, OpenRouter, Together, Fireworks, Cohere, locally Ollama or LM Studio, or any OpenAI-compatible server. Attach pictures, PDF and text files within the provider’s limits, and a screenshot of the RUNOS window. Saving, running, starting and stopping always ask first. Keys are stored encrypted per Windows user. Turn it on under Settings → AI agents; off by default.
  • Help: the Report a problem form is gone. Instead, Contact us → Write e-mail opens your mail program with a mail to info@systemberg.de.
  • AI agents (MCP): new tool take_screenshot, a picture of the RUNOS window (only that window). The tools now report whether they only read or change something, so the agent can ask before changes.
  • New: shared data folder. Settings → Data folder → Change… now also accepts a folder that already contains RUNOS data (before: “is not empty”). RUNOS then restarts with these workflows without copying or deleting anything. This lets several users of a terminal server use one owner’s workflows: only the owner changes them, and every change reaches the others at once, without a restart. Connectors, settings, license and start/stop stay per user.
  • New: “User” column and filter in the log. Every entry shows the Windows user who wrote it; the filter shows only that user’s entries, and the trash button then clears only those. Saved logs and problem reports include the user as well.
  • AI agents: save_workflow refuses to save when RUNOS uses another user’s shared data folder.
  • New: connectors in the test view. Input now also lists the saved connectors with their fields; drag one onto a field to insert it as {{connector.<Name>.<Field>}}. Secret values (password, API key, token) only show as “(hidden)”; the run reads the real value.
  • New: search box over all Input sources (key, reference or value); Esc clears it.
  • Drag and drop in the test view now works reliably: the {{…}} reference follows the pointer, the field below it is highlighted, and the reference lands where your cursor last was in the field. Clicking an entry with contents (e.g. “8 fields”) opens it.
  • New: test view in the visual editor. The columns button in an action’s settings panel shows Input, Settings and Output side by side; newly added actions open in it straight away. Input lists the data of earlier actions (last run or test), the trigger’s variables, the initial data and, inside a Loop, item, index and count. Drag a value onto a field to insert it as its {{…}} reference; a click copies the reference. The {{…}} suggestions now know the real keys of earlier actions with test data.
  • New: Test step. Runs a single action right away, on the data of the earlier steps and with the InitialData of the selected parameter set, without the workflow having to be saved or complete. The test is real (sends, uploads, prints, writes files). The output shows state, duration, errors, warnings and the result as a tree or JSON.
  • Run (F5) in the editor now also fills the test data: afterwards every action shows its data, and the diagram marks it (green check, yellow with warnings, red failed). Test data is kept only while the tab is open and is never saved with the workflow.
  • New: form for HttpRequest in the visual editor: method and URL, connector, sign-in, query parameters and headers as tables, body (JSON, form, multipart, text, XML, file), response and more options such as pages, several addresses and retries.
  • New: form for XRechnung in the visual editor: invoice from fields (all XRechnung 3.0.2 fields by group, mandatory fields with *, repeating groups, Fill with example), a JSON file or JSON text; plus standard, where to save, checks, KoSIT and ZUGFeRD.
  • New: forms for all actions in the visual editor instead of the JSON box: SMTP, Outlook365, FTP, SMB, Run, Print (with the list of installed printers), PdfEditor (add, move and remove operations), If, Loop and StopWorkflow. Every field takes {{…}} and values from the test view’s Input; unknown parameters are kept under Other parameters. Triggers are still set as JSON.
  • The Playground is gone; you now try actions with Test step in the editor. The XRechnung editor has its own entry in the activity bar again: E-invoice (XRechnung).
  • New: one-click update. When a new version is out, the update icon appears in the activity bar above Help. Update now downloads only the changes from your version (usually 1–3 MB instead of about 160 MB), checks the new file against its checksum, replaces the .exe where it is under the same name and restarts RUNOS; autostart and shortcuts stay valid. If RUNOS is in a protected folder such as C:\Program Files, Windows asks for administrator rights. To check yourself: Settings → About → Check for updates. The new-version notification now points to the icon instead of the download link, and Settings → License no longer shows a download link. Going from 3.66 or older to this version is one last manual update.
  • PDF printer: the Printer page is redesigned. Each printer is a card with its folder, file name, paper size and a badge for where your folder comes from; on the card you open the folder, edit or delete the printer. Add printer and Edit open their own window, which shows invalid entries and keeps what you typed. Delete asks first. When the RUNOS service is missing, outdated or stopped, the notice now sits above the list instead of in a dialog, with Fix now. An existing printer’s name can no longer be changed (until now a new name created another printer).
  • Fixed: SMTP with SaveInSent stored no copy in the Sent folder of mailboxes such as STRATO and still reported success, because RUNOS did not recognise the server’s Sent folder. RUNOS now also looks for the folder by well-known names (Sent Items as at STRATO, Gesendet, Sent, Gesendete Objekte …); the new parameter SentFolder sets it yourself. The result reports sending and storing separately (Results.SaveInSent with Status and Folder), and the log shows the chosen folder. If only storing the copy fails, the action ends with a warning instead of a silent success. If the mail is already in the folder, RUNOS does not store a second copy. ImapUser and ImapPassword are optional: empty means the SMTP credentials.
  • Security: passwords and other credentials no longer appear in the log. Values of parameters such as SmtpPassword, ImapPassword, ApiKey or ClientSecret show as *** there, also in a run’s summary, when placeholders are resolved and in error messages. Entries written before the update stay until the log is cleared.
  • New: Parallel. Runs several branches at the same time and waits for all of them; the actions inside a branch run one after the other, including If, Loop or another Parallel. OnBranchError decides whether the other branches finish after a failure (WaitForAll) or are cancelled (StopOthers); MaxConcurrent limits how many branches run at the same time. A failed branch fails the Parallel, so the error policy and OnError apply. Each branch’s result is under {{Name.Response.Branches.<branch>}}. In the visual editor, Parallel shows one column per branch; add, rename or remove branches in the settings panel. The editor warns when an action reads the result of a branch that runs at the same time.
  • Loop: after an inner loop, {{item}}, {{index}} and {{count}} refer to the outer loop’s element again (until now the inner loop’s last element stayed).
  • AI agents (MCP): list_action_types describes Parallel with all its parameters; the server’s hints to the agent explain how If, Loop and Parallel hold further actions.
  • Fixed: PDF printer: after updating RUNOS, opening Printer showed the notice that the RUNOS service was “not installed, not current or not running” on every start, although it was running. The service came from the previous version, and Save printer did not update it when nothing on the printer had changed. Now Save printer always installs, updates or starts the service when needed (with a prompt for administrator rights), even without a change to the printer. The notice also names the reason: service not installed, outdated or stopped.
  • New: PDF printer setting for all users. The new field Applies to chooses which folder you edit: Current user (your own folder as before, no administrator rights) or All users: the folder for every Windows user of the PC who has not chosen their own (administrator rights). The placeholder %USERNAME% there stands for the user who prints, e.g. D:\Scans\%USERNAME%. On a terminal server, one printer is enough for all users, each with their own folder, without every user setting up their folder themselves. If a user empties the Folder field under Current user, the folder for all users applies to them again.
  • Fixed: PDF printer: a printout shortly after the RUNOS service started could be lost when Windows did not show the job in the queue quickly enough. The service now waits up to 10 seconds instead of 2 for the job in the queue and only takes the one shown as “Printing”, never simply the oldest (with several users that could hit the wrong one); it never guesses. If it still cannot tell the user, or cannot write their folder, it saves the PDF in C:\Program Files\RUNOS\Service\Unassigned\<printer name>, which only administrators can open, and writes a warning to the service log. While the service is not running, RUNOS no longer saves other users’ printouts in the signed-in user’s folder.
  • New: separators between script blocks. Some ERPs print a character between two script blocks, e.g. | between the cells of a table row. Enter it under Settings → Script blocks → Separators between blocks; RemoveScriptFromFile (File trigger and XRechnung) then removes it too when only separators and spaces stand between two blocks. Text before the first and after the last block, and anything with letters or digits, stays. Default empty = off.
  • New: choose the data folder. Under Settings → Data folder → Change… each user can choose another folder (empty or new, e.g. on another drive). RUNOS restarts and moves settings, license, workflows, connectors and log there; the old folder is deleted afterwards.
  • Fixed: RemoveScriptFromFile (File trigger and XRechnung) also deleted PDF text under or next to a script block, e.g. position, description, quantity and price when the ERP prints the script in small type over the invoice line. Now only the characters of the script block itself are deleted; all other text stays unchanged in its place.
  • Security: values from connectors (passwords, keys, tokens) no longer appear in the log. Until now RUNOS wrote the value in plain text to the log when resolving placeholders such as {{connector.Mail.Password}}; the log now shows “(hidden: connector value)”. Entries written before the update stay until the log is cleared.

Includes all changes since 3.46 (versions 3.47 to 3.61 had no entries of their own).

  • New: AI agents (MCP). RUNOS has a built-in MCP server through which AI agents such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Cursor read, check, save, run, start and stop your workflows and read the log, the available triggers and actions and the templates. Turn it on under Settings → AI agents (off by default); Copy Claude Code command or Copy JSON gives you the setup for the agent. The server can only be reached from this PC (http://localhost:47811/mcp) and requires a key per Windows user.

  • Data per Windows user, for terminal servers. Settings, license, workflows, connectors and log are now in each user’s own data folder, Documents\RUNOS\Config, instead of shared in C:\ProgramData\RUNOS. Several users of one PC thus work independently, and nobody needs write access to a shared folder; this also fixes the crash on start for normal users when an administrator had started RUNOS first. At the first start RUNOS copies the existing data from C:\ProgramData\RUNOS once for each user, so nothing is lost. The files that ship with RUNOS are now read directly from the Repository folder next to RUNOS.exe instead of being copied to C:\ProgramData.

  • PDF printer: one folder per user. Still one printer and one RUNOS service for everyone, but every printout goes to the folder of the user who printed it: Documents\RUNOS\Pools\<printer name> by default, or the folder the user chooses under Printer. The service writes it with that user’s rights. Changing your own folder needs no administrator rights; only creating, deleting, file name and paper size ask for them. Printers from older versions keep their folder for users who have not chosen their own.

  • New: templates when creating a workflow, from the server. New in the workflow list now shows the templates to choose from above the name (or a blank workflow); the list below the workflows is gone. The templates come from the RUNOS server and can be changed and added to without a new RUNOS version. All templates were reworked: neutral (no company data), credentials through a connector instead of in the JSON, corrected parameters (e.g. the date in the subject, which used to show as %2026-10-21%). New ones include Gedruckte Rechnung als XRechnung, PDF-Drucker → E-Mail / Outlook / Archiv, Eingehende Dateien drucken, Ordner → Netzwerkfreigabe / SFTP-Server and Tägliche Ordnersicherung. The MCP tool get_templates returns the same templates.

  • PDF printer: the RUNOS service now reports stuck print jobs itself. It checks the queue every 30 seconds; a job with an error, or still printing after a minute, appears in the service’s log with its status, the Windows version and the time Windows last opened the port. On start, the service writes the Windows version to its log.

  • New: paper size for the PDF printer. The new field Paper size chooses A4 (default) or US Letter. Until now the printer printed on Windows’ default paper, often US Letter; an A4 letterhead (PDFEditor Overlay) was then shrunk and had a white margin left and right. The size applies to programs that do not choose a paper themselves (e.g. Notepad); Word or an ERP with its own paper size keeps it. Existing printers get A4 the next time you Save printer, unless you choose another size.

  • Fixed: PDF printer on Windows 11 24H2 and Windows Server 2025: prints stayed in the queue with “Error – Printing” and no PDF arrived in the folder. These Windows versions open the printer port with an additional right that the RUNOS service did not grant. After updating, save the printer in RUNOS once so the RUNOS service is updated; Windows then sends stuck prints again.

  • Fixed: a File trigger with DeleteAfter: true left the job folder in the spooler when an action had written a file into it (e.g. the parts of the PDFEditor’s Split). After a successful run the whole job folder is now deleted, with everything in it. To keep such a file, give the action an output folder outside the spooler.

  • PDFEditor: if the PDF comes from a File trigger and Output is empty, the file is now edited in place instead of written as <name>_edited.pdf next to it. It keeps the name from the trigger’s NewName, and the following actions (e.g. mail) get the edited PDF as {{FilePath}}. Other sources, e.g. your own files in manual workflows, are still never overwritten.

  • New: PDFEditor operation Overlay: lays another PDF onto the pages, e.g. a letterhead onto an invoice. Pages chooses the pages (empty = all, 1, 1,2, 1-10, 1,3,5-10), OverlayPage the page of the overlay (0 = page by page, e.g. a letterhead with a first and a follow-up page), InFront lays it over instead of behind the content, plus Opacity. Other page sizes are scaled to fit. In the Playground: Overlay PDF (letterhead).

  • New: Script view in the workflow editor, next to Visual / JSON. It builds the script blocks a file must carry for this workflow: tick values from InitialData and action parameters, choose shorthand or JSON, Copy. The workflow’s current values appear as examples; the selection and format are kept per workflow.

  • Workflow editor: new Start / Stop button in the toolbar. It starts or stops the saved workflow like in the workflow list, without going back to the list; both always show the same state.

  • New: built-in PDF printer, PDF24 is no longer needed. Under Printer in the activity bar you create Windows printers that save every printout, without a prompt, as a PDF into a folder, the pool of a File trigger. Fields: printer name, folder and file name (default %Y-%m-%d %H-%n-%s %i.pdf; existing files are never overwritten). The printer only uses the Windows driver “Microsoft Print to PDF” and a local Windows port; the PDFs are received by the new RUNOS service, a Windows service that starts with Windows and also runs while RUNOS is closed or nobody is signed in. The print queue therefore never gets stuck with “Error”; the PDFs collect in the folder until RUNOS processes them. No other program is needed. The folder must be on this PC (no network folders). Creating, changing and deleting ask once for administrator rights; saving installs or updates the service. Printers set up with PDF24 keep working unchanged. If the folder is the pool of a running workflow, that workflow starts right after printing, without waiting for the File trigger’s next check.

  • New setting “Start KoSIT validator with Windows” (Settings). Off by default, since not everyone creates e-invoices: the validator then starts with the first XRechnung (which waits once for about 15–20 seconds) instead of on every RUNOS start. If you create XRechnungen, switch it on so no invoice waits.

  • Clearing the log now also removes the recent-run dots in the workflow list, with workflows picked in the filter (or in the workflow editor) only theirs.

  • KoSIT validator: sturdier start. The validator now has 5 instead of 3 minutes to load its rules, then 60 seconds to answer; each status check waits at most 5 seconds, so one hanging check no longer uses up the whole wait. If the validator runs but does not answer on 127.0.0.1, RUNOS checks each invoice in the new fallback mode with a separate run (slower, no local connection) instead of failing the action. Settings shows a short message instead of the full Java output, telling “rules not loaded” apart from “not reachable”; loading time, status checks and the validator’s output are in the log.

  • Fixed: after switching to a new version (a new file, e.g. runos_3.57.exe instead of runos_3.56.exe), RUNOS showed “Start with Windows” as off, and Windows kept starting the old file. The setting now carries over: the new version takes over autostart and registers itself. Autostart that was switched off stays off.

  • Fixed: an action’s own OnErrorPolicy or OnWarningPolicy (in the diagram under On error) was ignored; the workflow’s always applied. It now applies as described, also in If, Loop and OnError. The log line when skipping now says whether there were retries (“Skipping the failed action; the run continues.” or “Skipping the action after N failed attempts; the run continues.”) instead of always “Skipping after repeated failure.”.

  • MAPI: form and 32-bit mail programs. In the diagram the action now has a form: Send with lists the mail programs installed on the PC (with 32/64-bit), What happens chooses Open to check, Send directly or Save as draft (Outlook only); invalid values such as "Mode": "no" show as errors before running. 32-bit mail programs such as Tobit David (Team) now work through a 32-bit mail helper, also as the default mail program; before, the action stopped with “is a 32-bit program and cannot be used by 64-bit RUNOS”. The action reports Sent only when the mail program confirms the mail; the result names the mail program in Program, and the error messages say what to do. Existing workflows keep working.

  • MAPI: One signature instead of two. With classic Outlook a Signatur of your own now replaces the Outlook signature; without Signatur the Outlook signature goes below the text automatically. For this OutlookSignature is now Auto (default), Always or Never; before, true added the Outlook signature on top of your own, and without the parameter there was none. A stored true counts as Always, false as Never. Workflows without the parameter now get the Outlook signature when Signatur is empty; set Never if they should stay without one. In the form, Signature now sits right below the text. Other mail programs are unchanged: RUNOS only adds Signatur there.

  • File trigger: the option RemoveScript is now called RemoveScriptFromFile and also removes script blocks from PDFs. The block’s text is deleted from the PDF (not covered), so the PDF goes on without the script, e.g. by mail or as an XRechnung. If a block cannot be removed, the file is rejected. Workflows using RemoveScript keep working.

  • XRechnung: new option RemoveScriptFromFile. With EnableZugferd, the ZUGFeRD PDF no longer contains the script blocks; their text is deleted, not covered. The source PDF is not changed.

  • XRechnung: new option ConvertDecimalCommaToPoint. When the ERP delivers amounts, prices, percentages and quantities in German notation ("1.234,56", "-9,50"), RUNOS writes them correctly into the XML (1234.56, -9.50).

  • New: workflows as a diagram. The workflow editor now shows a workflow first as a top-to-bottom diagram: trigger with initial data, actions, the branches of If, the actions in a Loop and the OnError actions. In the diagram you add actions with +, place them freely by dragging (positions stored under "Layout", Tidy up arranges automatically), change the order by dragging onto +, switch them on and off, duplicate and delete them, with undo/redo; on the right you edit name, description, parameters (in a form for MAPI, as JSON for the others for now), error handling, trigger, initial data and workflow settings. Errors such as duplicate names or references to missing actions are shown before running. Visual / JSON switches to the JSON; every change is there straight away.

  • Workflow editor: the log starts hidden and appears with the Log button, which counts this workflow’s errors (red), warnings (yellow) and info entries (blue). New in the editor’s log: clear, for this workflow’s entries only. In the main log, with workflows picked in the filter, the bin clears only their entries.

  • Saving restarts only the saved workflow; the others keep running undisturbed. A workflow that cannot start because another running workflow watches the same folder (Pool) stays stopped until you start it again. Before, it looked stopped in the list but tried again, with an error message, on every save and every RUNOS start.

  • Actions can have a Description and "Enabled": false: a switched-off action does not run, also inside If, Loop and OnError, and still stays in the workflow.

  • New: Print action. Print one or more files (PDF, images, text) on the default printer or a named one, with copies, duplex, page range, color, orientation, paper size, tray, resolution and margins (top, bottom, left, right in mm). A missing printer, a missing file or a print error fails the action and with it the run.

  • New: Playground in the activity bar. Try an action on its own and copy it, ready to use, into a workflow. For Print: all printers with their state, the paper sizes, trays and resolutions of the selected printer, a preview of every page, test print and Copy action.

  • New: FTP action. Upload, download, list or delete files via SFTP, FTPS or FTP; sign-in with password or SSH key, Fingerprint pins the server. Every transfer is checked by size, downloads only appear under their name once complete, and Move deletes the source only after that. If a file, the connection or the sign-in fails, the action fails.

  • New: SMB action. Copy, move, list or delete files on Windows network shares (\\server\share) and in local folders; sign-in with a user of its own (also through a Basic connector), without disconnecting existing Windows connections. Copies only appear under their name once complete and checked, a move within one share is a rename, and IfExists: Rename keeps both files. If a file or the sign-in fails, the action fails.

  • Playground for SMB: open a share and see which user it was opened as, browse its folders and use them as source or destination, checks, a real run with one line per file, and Copy action.

  • New: Run action. Start a program, a .bat/.cmd or .ps1 file, or a PowerShell, PowerShell 7 or cmd script written into the action, also as another Windows user (also through a Basic connector). Arguments as a list and values in Environment arrive unchanged, whatever quotes or spaces they contain. Exit code, output and error output go into the result, JSON output also as Response.Json. An exit code outside SuccessExitCodes (default 0) or a timeout fails the action; a timeout or a stopped workflow ends the program and everything it started.

  • Playground for Run: script editor or program, arguments one per line, environment variables, run as another user, checks, a real run with exit code, output and error output, Stop, and Copy action.

  • Playground for FTP: connect with the server’s fingerprint shown, browse the server’s folders and take them as source or destination, checks, a real run with a line per file and Copy action.

  • New: PDFEditor action. Merge PDFs, remove, rotate, reorder and extract pages, split PDFs, read text and form fields, fill in forms (optionally flattened) and stamp text (watermark, page numbers, received stamp). Several operations in a row in one action; the source stays unchanged unless ReplaceSource is set. If an operation fails, nothing is written and the action fails.

  • Playground for PDFEditor: a form per operation, page lists checked against the chosen PDF, the PDF’s form fields ready to fill in, a run on a copy, preview of the original, the edited PDF and every split file, and Copy action.

  • Playground for SMTP: provider presets, sign-in via a Basic connector, connection test (SMTP and IMAP), preview of the mail with the recipients and attachments really used, warnings, test mail and Copy action.

  • The XRechnung playground is now part of the Playground (action XRechnung) and no longer has its own entry in the activity bar.

  • If: if an action in Do or Else fails, the If now fails too instead of carrying on.

  • Loop: a failed action in Do counts as an error of that iteration and towards BreakOnErrors.

  • HttpRequest action rewritten. Connector with a connector’s name signs in (OAuth2 tokens are renewed, a 401 answer is repeated once with a new token) and appends a Url such as /orders to its base URL. New: BodyType Multipart (form with files), File, Xml; SuccessStatusCodes, ResponseFormat, TimeoutSeconds, MaxPages, Overwrite, FollowRedirects, IgnoreCertificateErrors, ApiKeyHeader. The result has the first response directly under Response ({{Name.Response.Body…}}, StatusCode, Headers), and with AutoPagination the entries of all pages in Response.Items. Retries also happen on 429/503 (honouring Retry-After) and 502/504; POST and PATCH only when the server cannot have processed them. An error contains the beginning of the server’s answer.

  • HttpRequest: JSON values keep their type (previously numbers became text and false/null empty text, so == false in If never matched); dates stay as the server sends them. Response fields with token, password etc. in their name are no longer replaced by ***MASKED*** (which made fetching a token impossible); instead the action no longer writes parts of the token to the log, and the result’s parameters show AuthToken and sign-in headers as ***. A Content-Type in Headers now applies. Further pages no longer append the QueryParameters twice and do not follow a link to another server. If a retry succeeds, the action succeeds; Urls requests every address, with the results in their order. Older workflows (Body with Value, Timeout in ms, Response.Results.Body…) keep working.

  • Playground for HttpRequest: method, URL, connector or token, query parameters, headers and body (JSON, form, multipart with files, text, XML, file), options, checks, a real request with status code, time, body and headers of the response, Stop, and Copy action.

  • Timer: RepeatCount = n gives exactly n runs (previously n − 1).

  • Placeholders: %HH%%mm%%ss% back to back works; NewName with %filename% is no longer doubled.

  • WeatherEmailNotification template fixed (temperature was not read, mail body was empty).

  • Settings → Documentation leads to this documentation. It is now organized into triggers, actions, operations, connectors and settings; every action has an overview, its structure and examples. New: how to set up PDF24 as the PDF printer.

  • The usage statistics question on the first start is now short and simple.

  • New: Outlook365 action. Send mails through a Microsoft 365 or Outlook.com mailbox, save as draft or open in Outlook on the web. Works without a mail program and with the new Outlook. Large attachments up to 150 MB.
  • MAPI action reworked. Choice of mail program (Client: default program, classic Outlook or e.g. Thunderbird), Mode display / send / draft, sending account, reply address, importance, read and delivery receipts, Outlook signature, attachments by pattern (*.pdf) and MissingAttachments. Older workflows keep running unchanged.
  • New templates ClassicOutlookMail and Outlook365Mail, new connector template Microsoft Outlook Mail.
  • Script blocks: lists with row numbers (BG25.2.BT126=…) and automatic rows for the repeating groups of XRechnung, so an ERP can simply print invoice lines one after another.
  • On the first start RUNOS asks whether it may send anonymous usage statistics. Can be changed under Settings → Send usage statistics.
  • Each file of the File trigger gets its own job folder in the spooler. Files with the same name no longer get in each other’s way; failed files are in Spooler\Failed\<ID>\.
  • RUNOS now runs only once per Windows session; a new start takes over from the older instance.
  • A folder can now only be watched by one running workflow.
  • Script blocks use the #RUNOS marker.
  • Better error messages for files that cannot be read.
  • New: StopWorkflow action and the OnError action list for your own error handling.
  • Shorthand for script blocks (path=value), own markers in the settings and per File trigger, multi-line values and text markers ***.
  • XRechnung: SaveToFolder parameter. Without it, the XML is only kept in a work folder as long as the following actions need it.
  • Parameters from script blocks are merged deeply: a block can change single fields of an invoice without losing the others.
  • Official KoSIT validator checks every XRechnung; Java is included. State under Settings → E-invoice validation.
  • The workflow list shows the recent runs as colored dots.
  • Notification for failed runs and stopped workflows; trigger errors count as failed runs.
  • Suggestions in the workflow editor: after {{ the editor offers the workflow’s variables.
  • Show error pop-up setting.
  • Script blocks can bring actions the workflow does not have.
  • Wrapped lines in script blocks from PDFs are repaired; missing markers are detected and reported.
  • XRechnung 3.0.2 with built-in rule check, XRechnung playground and tabbed workflow editor.
